David Lloyd Glover
Since 1968, David Lloyd Glover has worked as a professional in the fine art industry. As a published artist he was a full time editorial illustrator and political cartoonist for a major daily newspaper producing until 1974. He became a principal of a major media advertising agency and as an illustrator and graphic designer, created many award winning ad campaigns.
In 1986 after retiring from the advertising and design industry, Glover returned to producing fine art. He was commissioned to paint a series of historical paintings for the Royal British Columbia Museum on the occasion of their 100th year. Twenty seven originals remain in the museum’s permanent collection. His work was represented by important galleries in Vancouver and Los Angeles where he was widely collected. His work was also published in Mexico City, Tokyo and Los Angeles in museum quality graphic silkscreen works.
From 1994 to 2006 his original art was exclusively represented by the largest Tokyo art gallery resulting in David Lloyd Glover being one of the biggest selling fine artists in Japan. His images are sought after by art buyers mainly in Europe, the United States, the Middle East and Canada.
With strong partnerships with art reproduction manufacturers, Glover’s art is licensed and sold through over twenty eight name brand retailers. Japanese Corporations continue to license David Lloyd Glover images on their high quality fine art prints. Prints that are annually presented to their most important clientele.
As an author, David Lloyd Glover has written six art book titles for the Walter Foster Books publishing company. His “how to” books demonstrate and instruct artists and students how to improve their artwork.
Recently, Glover’s seminal portrait of jazz legend Bill Evans was acquired by the Southeastern Louisiana University music faculty. The portrait original hangs in honor of their most famous graduate.
The Newport Car Museum commissioned Glover to create original paintings as part of their display of a massive collection of rare automobiles. Many of those originals have also been reproduced into large scale murals for their main exhibition pavilions.
David Lloyd Glover’s contemporary portraits of music icons have been collected by fans and celebrities alike. Music producer David Foster, music legend Glen Campbell, comedian Brad Garrett, jazz legend Herbie Hancock, actor Jamie Foxx, are among many in the entertainment industry who have collected Glover’s music icons.
