John Altyn
John Altyn brings an impressive and legendary pedigree to his beautifully illustrated works. He has worked with and studied under animators from every major animation studio in the U.S., including Warner Bros., Jay Ward Productions, Famous Studios, Hanna-Barbera, and Disney. He has worked with Eyvind Earle, Friz Freleng, Maurice Noble, Joe Barbera, Thelma Whitmer, and Bonnie Callahan.
Friz Freleng
An American animator, cartoonist, director, producer, and composer, Freleng was known for his work at “Warner Bros. Cartoons” on the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies series. In total he created more than 300 cartoons, and remains one of the greatest animation legends to this day.
Chuck Jones
An American animator, filmmaker, cartoonist, author, artist, and screenwriter, Jones was best known for his work with Warner Bros. cartoons on the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies shorts. He later started his own studio, Chuck Jones Enterprises, creating several one-shot specials, and periodically worked on Looney Tunes related works. Jones was nominated for eight Academy Awards, winning three times. Robin Williams presented Jones with an honorary Academy Award in 1996 for his iconic work in the animation industry.
Virgil Ross
Virgil Ross (b.1907, d. 1996) was an American artist, cartoonist, and animator best known for his work on the Warner Brothers animated shorts. Of the very many characters Ross animated, he is most closely associated with Bugs Bunny, but also did a great deal of work involving Daffy Duck, Yosemite Sam, Tweety, and many others, including the Rudy Larriva-directed Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote shorts. Virgil Ross received the highest awards available in his profession: the Motion Picture Screen Cartoonists Golden Award (1984) and the Winsor McCay Award (1988). Three of the cartoons he had animated won Oscars: Tweety Pie (1947), Birds Anonymous (1957), and Knighty Knight Bugs (1958).
